For those of us thinking of moving to a plant-based diet, many questions about nutrition and health can come up. Is it really possible to get all of the nutrients we need from plants alone? We are here to answer many common questions you or you family may have. Here's an overview of basic vegetarian or vegan nutrition, as well as answers to some of the common concerns people raise. During the period of most active growth, the oil glands of the skin go through an extended period of development, along with other glands of the body. in some young people, these glands become clogged, swollen, and inflamed. They are prone to infection. The following suggestions may be helpful:
Eczema
• Consume a whole-foods diet, rich in fibre, fresh fruits, fresh vegetables and their juices.
• Include essential fatty acids daily. Good sources are flaxseeds, flaxseed oil, and wheat germ oil. Do not heat these oils!
Parents are hard-wired to protect their kids from physical harm. But are you protecting yours from disease? Feed your kids healthy foods now and you will reduce their risk of developing diabetes, heart disease, and cancer later in life. In the meantime, they'll also likely experience fewer allergies, less asthma, and quite possibly less ADHD.
OTHER FACTORS
Because people lose fluid through sweating in hot weather, kidney stones are more common during summer. In winter, sitting in hot tubs or saunas causes excessive sweating. A long car ride or plane trip with inadequate water and the use of soft drinks (which can have an overall dehydrating effect) can start stone development or urinary tract infections. The overuse of magnesium-containing laxatives and antacids cause a similar problem.
