The day before his seventh birthday, Nazis ransacked Peter Ney’s home in Nuremberg, Germany.

Toy Car Set: Symbol of Survival

It was during Kristallnacht, a wave of nationwide anti-Jewish violence and destruction. They destroyed many of the family’s belongings, but Peter’s birthday gift, a model of the Autobahn [highway] was not damaged. He had to leave behind the beloved toy set when he fled Nazi Germany.

Amazingly, the toy car set survived as did Peter and some of his family. Peter's toy car set continues to touch many people's lives. Find out how.
