Meet 669: the IDF's Elite Airborne Evacuation and Rescue Unit

For the Elite men and women serving in the 669 (the Israeli Search and Rescue Unit) each day can be filled with unpredictable missions, and they must be ready for any scenario: from a mountain rescue, to diving missions, even armed combat.

Because of this kind of rigorous schedule, the members of this unit are under a lot of mental and emotional stress.

The 669 is often the first line of rescue and medical treatment, a standard helicopter team consists of a doctor, a paramedic and a handful of combat operators who also have full medic training.

The motto of the 669 is: “In distress you called, and I rescued you” Psalm 81:8
