Lone Soldier Elan Bielski on Grandfather Zus Bielski

Watch the story of the one of the Bielski brothers who fought against the Nazi regime.

Zus and his brothers Tuvia, Aron and Asael, formed a large partisan group that fought against the cruelty and atrocities of the Nazis. Their partisan group saved 1,236 Jews, and today the descendants of those who were saved number over 10,000.

This video shows Zus’s grandson Elan, who was a lone soldier from New York, describing the pride he has for his grandfather and his story. Because of his grandfather’s bravery and heroism, Elan was inspired to join the IDF, and become a paratrooper combat soldier. Similar to his grandfather, Elan chose to serve and protect the people and country he loves.
