“Yeshua went about all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and weakness.
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were harried and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his talmidim, ‘The harvest is rich, but the workers are few. Pray that the Lord of the harvest will send out workers to gather in his harvest.’” Matthew 9:35-38
What Yeshua the well known Jewish Rabbi said to his students that day is important, he wasn’t using the term harvest carelessly. Humans are referred to as a harvest. “Listen! The voice, the cry of the daughter of my people from a far country: ‘Is not the Lord in Zion? Is not her King in her?’ ‘Why have they provoked Me to anger with their carved images—with foreign idols?’ ‘The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved!’ For the hurt of the daughter of my people I am hurt. I am mourning; astonishment has taken hold of me.”Jeremiah 8:19-20. When we accept Yeshua as our Messiah and Son of God should take his words very seriously.
I was scared to share things about God with others but then I remembered that sharing God’s words as time goes on will be harder than it is now and for many people it will be too late. One day the opportunity to be a part of God’s harvest will be gone forever. So however hard or scary talking about God may seem using the opportunities you have to share God’s love with others is worth it, we just have to remember how important it is. We who know Torah and claim serve the God of Israel should not put off sharing God with others until later. For many people later may never come.
“A sensible person gathers in summer, but he who sleeps during harvest is an embarrassment.” Proverbs 10:5. We are an embarrassment to our faith when we don’t live what we profess to believe but we don’t have to be, we can choose to be a power for good. Instead of just being concerned about how much we know about God we should be concerned about living like God and letting the light of God’s love reflect from our lives onto those around us so that they will want to know God better. “On that day the Lord their God will rescue his people…They will sparkle in his land like jewels in a crown.” Zechariah 9:16 “Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.” Daniel 12:3
