Christian philosopher Eric Hoffer accurately and prophetically observed over 50 years ago, right after the 6 day war of 1967 when Israel was attacked by 5 armies all at once, “The Jews (Israel) are a peculiar people: Things permitted to other nations are forbidden to the Jews. . . . Other nations drive out thousands, even millions of people and there is no refugee problem. . . . Everyone expects the Jews to be the only real Christians in this world.” That is so true today as well.
Israel has gone out of its way, risking its own soldiers’ lives and risking terrorists escaping justice, by dropping leaflets, sending text messages, making phone calls, and warning its enemy that it is about to destroy a building or begin military operations in certain areas. What other army has ever done that? None.
What other military is expected to provide humanitarian aid to those that attacked it? Is the world demanding that Ukraine provide food, medicine, and other aid (with possible weapons smuggled in) to Russia? Did the Allies provide aid to the Nazis?
In every other conflict the world takes in the refugees to remove them from conflict areas. Israel took in many non-Jewish Ukrainians and Russians. The world took in many people during the so-called Arab Spring. But no one is willing to take in the Arabs living in Gaza. They are forced to be in the way of Israel destroying the murderous terrorists. Then when a person, possibly even a terrorist dressed as a civilian, dies during the war, the same world voices that refused to allow them to leave the area as refugees condemns Israel for not doing more to protect those who want to see them killed.
Consistently polls -- before the war, at the beginning of the war, and even all throughout the war, even as the terrorist organization Hamas has lost most of its strength and ability to intimidate people -- show the vast majority of Arabs in Gaza still support killing Jewish people. Yet the world, including many so-called Christians, constantly condemn Israel for not doing more to protect and provide food and aid to these very people who want every single Jewish person killed.
Many Christians, who call for Israel to lay down its arms, who condemn it for continuing to protect themselves and to remove those who seek their harm, fall strangely silent when asked, “If a gang came into your house, tied up the husband/father, forced him to watch his wife and daughters be raped and killed, took the church directory and took the car, and drove off to the houses of your friends to do the same to them, would you tell the police the car description, the addresses of the houses where the murderous gang was going, or would you tell the police not to worry about it, you were calling for peace; the gang should be allowed to continue on their rampage as you don’t want any possible innocent civilians to get hurt in the possible cross fire?” Their silence shows their hypocrisy. “Everyone expects the Jews to be the only real Christians in this world.”
At church the ministers and members talk highly: about Aaron and Hur holding up Moses’ hands while Israel defended itself against those who attacked them; they talk about the faith of David slaying Goliath; of Jael putting a tent peg through Sisera’s temple; of God opening the earth to swallow up the idol worshippers and Moses’ cousins who rebelled against him; of Ananias and Sapphira dropping dead after lying to the Lord and the disciples; of God destroying the earth and its inhabitants with a flood, and God’s coming judgment of fire upon the wicked. But let Israel kill a terrorist in defense, or God forbid a real civilian unfortunately dies in the process, then Israelis and Jews are genocidal murderers. Hypocrites. “Everyone expects the Jews to be the only real Christians in this world.”
Those who ignore the multitudes of Christians being killed by Muslims in Africa -- who do nothing about the crime rate where they live, who did nothing to take the gospel to Gaza to convert to the Lord from their genocidal hatred of Jewish people (over 90 percent of the population who want to see all Jews killed) -- and yet condemn Israel for defending itself, especially when Israel has done more than anyone else to spare their enemies, show it is not about logic, or about caring about humans, but nothing but a hatred of Jews.
